“Colors of Developed India, in the Spirit of Art”: Award Ceremony for One-Day Painting Workshop Artists in Lucknow

Lucknow: The Lalit Kala Akademi, Regional Centre, Aliganj, under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, recently hosted an award ceremony for participants of a one-day painting workshop titled “Colors of Developed India, in the Spirit of Art”. The workshop had taken place on September 17, 2025, at the Faculty of Architecture and Planning, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow.

The award ceremony was inaugurated in the presence of Prof. Mandavi Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Bhatkhande Cultural University, Lucknow, and Dr. Vandana Sehgal, Director, Faculty of Architecture and Planning, along with Dr. Devendra Tripathi, Regional Secretary, Lalit Kala Akademi, and other eminent artists. The program was skillfully conducted by Dr. Anita Sehgal.

The painting workshop, organized under the theme “Seva Parv – Developed India”, recognized excellence in three categories:

  • Professional Category: First Prize of ₹1,00,000 went to Vinod Singh, Second Prize of ₹50,000 to Anup Kumar Singh, and Third Prize of ₹25,000 to Jitendra Kumar.

  • College Category: First Prize of ₹25,000 went to Maria Khatun, Second Prize of ₹15,000 to Prateek Kumar Mishra, and Third Prize of ₹10,000 to Aradhana Kanti Jaiswal.

  • School Category: First Prize of ₹10,000 went to Ayaan, Second Prize of ₹5,000 to Ansh, Third Prize of ₹2,500 to Romila, and Consolation Prizes of ₹1,000 each were awarded to Vania Alam, Nitesh Dwivedi, and Isba Ansari.

The award-winning artworks creatively highlighted contemporary themes such as Digital Revolution, UPI, Aadhaar, India’s achievements in Space Technology including ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya-L1 missions, and the Make in India initiative.

Commending the artists, Prof. Mandavi Singh said, “Such artworks energize the vision of a newly developed India and provide young artists a platform to showcase their talent.” Dr. Vandana Sehgal added, “Art shapes humanity, and society must cultivate a greater appreciation for it.”

On the occasion, Dr. Devendra Tripathi expressed gratitude to all participants, guests, and collaborating institutions for their support. The event saw participation from regional Lalit Kala Akademi artists, officials, employees, and city-based artists.

The ceremony not only celebrated artistic talent but also reflected the creative engagement of young artists with India’s developmental achievements, inspiring innovation and patriotism through art.
